The best Fish & Chips by far
We visited here on a Sunday afternoon with a party of ten aged from 1 to 70. The place is a bit off the beaten track if you’re just passing through but well worth the detour.
The Sunday roasts were excellent with plenty of fresh well cooked veg and huge home made Yorkshire puddings. The fish and chips was easily the best I have tasted for a long time.
It would have been nice to see a larger selection of real ales, but the ale on offer was well kept.
Service was excellent and way beyond our expectations. Staff here simply can not do enough for you.
I can’t recommend this pub enough.
“An impromptu meal out with family, the first time I’ve been since the new owners have taken over but I will be going back the welcome, the food and the atmosphere was simply fabulous my compliments to all the staff.”

“Excellent service, lovely food, very friendly staff, clean and tidy place. Not too long to wait for food to arrive. Very nicely presented and all home made. Apparently the beers were very good! Also the wine cold and in nice glasses! The landlord made special effort to make all customers feel looked after and welcome. The price is what u would expect for good home cooked food! Not cheap but not too expensive either. We have been twice recently! Excellent both times and look forward to returning.”
